lamia history
After long wanderings, we came across and immediately fell in love with this typical old Puglia house called “lamia” located in an enchanting hamlet; at that time, when we bought the house, this village had not discovered its touristic and hospitality potential yet.
lamia today
The house has been renovated keeping the original structure and the tuff walls intact. So do the bedrooms and the living-room where the signs of the past are still present such as the remains of the old stalls and animal shelters. The light-blue facade has been reconstructed along the lines of the original one, previously painted with a unique “indigo” shade.
rooms
The structure of the rooms are exactly as they were in the past, with star vaults and tuff white coloured walls that make the guests get the flavour of the ancient times, while hospitality and comfort make them feel like home. Each room has an independent entrance and is equipped with all the comforts. Bathrooms are decorated with vintage cementine tiles and sophisticated finishing.

Today Speziale has become a very attractive place, very well known by many Italian and foreign tourists who stop by the village when traveling from Cisternino towards the seaside or from the famous Fasano towards Ostuni, the region of olive oil.
territory
In the beautiful surroundings you can visit enchanted villages such as Cisternino, Locorotondo and the “white town” Ostuni.
After nice walks along the ancient dry stonewalls, the unexplored sheep tracks (tratturi) at the heart of Valle d’Itria, and among centuries-old olive trees, you can glimpse fascinating trulli and traditional farms.
Proceeding along the way down to Castellaneta Grotte, you will find caves with stalactites and stalagmites. Then you can visit the Neolithic sites of Egnazia and the precious Baroque decorations in Lecce.
Lamia Speziale is located in Speziale, a small village of Fasano municipality, in the province of Brindisi. It is very well known for its centuries-old olive trees, real work of arts that expand all the way to the seaside. An enchanted seaside with protected areas such as the natural reserve of Torre Guaceto.
